If you are looking for tips on how to be more eco-friendly, that you can implement right at this moment, read on! You do not necessary need to buy new things in order to live more greener. For the start you can make simple changes and start choice in your everyday life and without spending any money.


  • Use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste

  • Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth - There is no need to keep water flowing while you’re brushing your teeth. 

  • Lower the water temperature for showers - Hot water also dries out your skin and hair. You will also save your energy costs. And cold shower will make you mentally and physically stronger.

  • Cut the shower time under 5 minutes


  • Drink tap water - It’s definitely safer than bottled water. I’ll will recommend also a good filter if you want to.

  • Put an extra sweater instead of increasing the heat in winter - also wear warm socks, it will feel nice and cozy.

  • Turn off the lights when not in use

  • Sell or donate unused items - go through your home and donate or sell items you haven't been using in the last months or years. 

  • Sign up for paperless billing


  • Bring your own shopping bag

  • Re-use plastic and paper bags until they rip

  • Purchase packaged products in the largest available size

  • Buy in bulk if possible

  • Buy locally & seasonally


  • Turn of the tap when washing dishes

  • Use cold water for your laundry

  • Line dry your clothing

  • Use natural cleaning products or start to make your own from ingredients you have at home


  • Order a drink without a straw

  • Bring your own container while eating out

  • If eating in restaurant order smaller portion to avoid leftovers or take the leftovers with you

  • Eat less meat or even go vegetarian or vegan

  • Carry your own water bottle


  • Avoid free items

  • Packaging matters - if you have a chance to choose between similar products choose the one with less packaging. Close glass over tin over paper over plastic. Choose one that is recyclable , if not buy something else. 

  • Inform and share with others - multiply the impact of your knowledge by sharing with other. 


And these are just a few simple ways to help the environment. By following these easy tips you will be at the beginning of the way to live more greener lifestyle, and a happy side effect is that you will also end up saving money.
